Peter Collins

Peter Collins was born and raised in Venice, Florida. He attended Xavier University, in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1993. He then attended Catholic University of America Law School in Washington, D.C. where he participated in Law Review and received his Juris Doctorate, with Honors, in 1996.
Mr. Collins returned to Sarasota and served as an Assistant State Attorney from 1996 to 2001. He prosecuted thousands of misdemeanor and felony cases and gained invaluable litigation experience trying over 75 jury trials. Since 2001, Mr. Collins has been in private practice representing clients in the areas of family law, criminal defense, and bankruptcy in Sarasota, Manatee, DeSoto, and Charlotte counties.
Mr. Collins is admitted to the Florida Bar, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, and is a member of the Sarasota County Bar Association, The Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers; the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy attorneys and serves on the Florida Bar Grievance Committee.

Mark Maynard

Mark Maynard graduated from Stetson University in 1987 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He attended the University of Florida College of Law, graduating in 1991.
Mr. Maynard was hired at the Office of the State Attorney in Sarasota County as a Prosecutor from 1991 until 2002. During this time, he handled thousands of cases ranging from misdemeanors to homicides, and tried over 100 jury trials. During the latter four years, he was assigned to a specialized division that prosecuted capital sexual battery, habitual felony offenders, and other serious cases.
In 2002 Mr. Maynard entered private practice and joined the firm of Baranowizc, Calderon, and Deciantis in Venice, Florida, litigating criminal defense and family law cases. In 2003, Mr. Maynard established the Law Office of Mark Maynard, which specialized in criminal defense, family law and civil litigation. In 2009, he and attorney Peter Collins expanded to form Collins, Maynard & Associates, and added Consumer Bankruptcy to the practice.
Mr. Maynard represents clients in the areas of family law, criminal defense, and bankruptcy in Sarasota, Manatee, DeSoto, and Charlotte counties.
Since he has been admitted to practice law in 1991, Mr. Maynard has been a member of the Florida Bar Association, Sarasota County Bar Association, Venice Bar Association, Florida and Sarasota Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys. |
Julie Amato Collins

Julie Amato Collins attended Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1992, cum laude. Mrs. Collins was employed by the law firm of Richard Mulholland and Associates from 1992-1994 as a paralegal. She then attended Stetson University College of Law, graduating in 1998 with Honors.
Mrs. Collins worked for the Office of the State Attorney in Sarasota as an Assistant State Attorney from 1998 through 2002, prosecuting misdemeanor and juvenile criminal cases.
Mrs. Collins took a sabbatical from the full time practice of law for several years after the birth of her children. She returned to the full time practice of law in 2008 and currently focuses her practice in representing debtors in consumer bankruptcy cases in Manatee, Sarasota, DeSoto, and Charlotte counties. She is a member of the Florida Bar and the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys.
